LEGO City Fireboat

$39.99 Released January, 2007

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Actually floats--teaches kids how to make their own floating LEGO constructions. Easy enough to build even for children as young as 5. Looks great when constructed--good attention to detail.

The Cons:Kind of top heavy--easily flips over when floating. A little overpriced considering the issues it has with floating properly. Some of the boat details have trouble staying on in the water.

The LEGO City Fireboat is part of the City theme of playsets, and is used to construct a fire rescue boat measuring 16" long. The boat really floats and has an electric motor underneath to propel it through water.

After assembly, the top cockpit area can be removed to reveal a control center in the boat's lower region. The boat comes with a dinghy that can be raised or lowered off the stern of the boat with a crane system. There are also fireman "hoses" attached to the front, a water cannon (doesn't actually spray) and three firefighter figures with gear and accessories. This kit is medium-sized and good for children in the range of 5-12 years. The motor requires a single AA battery.
